News > Busy Formula ford test at Combe

23/09/2011

The WPR team had 5 formula fords out for the silnced test day at Castle Combe on September 22nd.

Fresh from one of his most enjoyable races, at a recent Donington meeting, since returning to competition Don Boyack was out in his RF88 with friend, Ray Smith, is his similarly coloured Swift SC92. Don got faster during the day and posted a 1m 17.8 personal best in the final session while Ray's recent engine problems re-surfaced unfortunately which will require a re-build in the near future.

Steve Bracegirdle was testing wife Denise's RF88 and, after adjusting the ride height (Steve is a few Kilos heavier!) and living with some cooling problems was pleased to get down to the low 1m 16s. Chris Bennett  was enjoying longer runs in his RF89 compared with his usual 2 lap sprint format.

Finally, new team member, Vince Mann was having his first run in his newly acquired, Hendy Honda sponsored, RF89 and quickly getting comfortable with the car.
