News > Double Fisher 'one two' at Combe August 2/3

03/08/2008

Brothers, Josh and Felix Fisher scored a memorable double 'one two' for Wayne Poole Racing in Castle Combe's August double header. In Race 1, after a tense battle with Ed Moore and Ben Norton which saw Moore go off at Quarry and Norton drop back to third the leading trio of Josh, Felix and Norton were covered by a couple of seconds at the finish. Atlhough going the wrong way on the settings for a wet practice Tom Margetson had a good drive through the field to net third in Class C. Pete Diccox was running well but stopped early after suspecting a rear tyre go down and James Beckett, Walter Hayes Trophy organiser, having one of his occasional outings with WPR ran steadily to the finish. Race 2 started in Race 1 finishing order and saw Josh lead away from a battling trio of Felix, Ben Norton and Andrew Jones. However, what began as a few spots of rain turned into a steady drizzle which saw Norton spin at the Esses and Josh lead Felix home, both drivers taking it carefully in difficult conditions. Tom Margetson made an excellent start and was running in the top 10 before conditions worsened and he dropped back. Both Pete Diccox and James Beckett found their Van Diemens a handful in the wet and drove sensibly to the finish. Report here & photos here.
