Another win for McHale but problems for Fisher

The WPR team headed to Oulton Park on May 23rd for the second round of the AVON Tyres Northern FF1600 Championship and Calum McHale scored another win in the Pre '90 race to move further ahead in the Championship.

Calum qualified second fastest after having a lap time discounted for a track limit infringement but made a good start to run second for the first six laps before taking the lead on Lap 7 which he held until the finish, taking fastest Class C lap on the way.

In the Post '89 race, Josh Fisher aboard Richard Hudson-Evans' Van Diemen RF99 only managed to qualify eighth largely due to the presence of the National FF runners who were competing in the same race. A good start saw Josh up to fifth at the end of the first lap, after briefly being even further up, but an incident on Lap 2 when he got tapped into a spin saw him drop back to 13th. A strong recovery saw Josh back up to sixth by Lap 9 but a post race penalty oddly holding him responsible for the incident meant he was finally classified ninth.
