2nd in Class for a one off return by Tom Margetson

Pre race testing had gone well with Olly Bull (Swift SC92), Guy Parr (Nemesis 02) and Des Andrews (Radical SR3) all putting in good times and ready for race day. With some of the regular FF drivers electing to give this race a miss for various reasons the single seat brigade was represented by Olly, Matt Horwood (mygale SJ01) and the previous year's Class C Champion Tom Margetson (Reynard 89FF) out for a one off run made possible with help from the team. Des Andrews day came to an end hardly before it had begun when a rod went through the side of the motor after a single lap of practice. The rest of practice was largely uneventful apart from a coming together between Olly & Tom in the Esses which fortunately didn't cause any damage to the cars or team spirit! Highlight of practice was Guy Parr's 1m 05.5s lap which saw him take third place on the grid.

In the Formula Ford race Tom made another of his trade mark getaways to be well up as they arrived at the first corner only to lose all that he had gained as the field sorted itself out avoiding a spinner. Thereafter Tom, with unsuitable gear ratios fitted, had an unventful run to second in class but unable to make any impression of runaway winner, Kyle Tilley. Matt had a good race to come through from 18th on the grid to 9th at the end but feeling there was more to come as the handling of the car is not yet exactly to his liking.Olly Bull's recent run of bad luck unfortunately took a turn for the worse. After an average start, a coming together with a Mygale at Tower saw both cars out of the race and Olly's Swift with a damaged corner. However, a few laps later another car went off at the same spot, crashing into Olly's parked Swift causing extensive damage including all four corners. A sad end to the day.

In the GT race Guy Parr was holding a strong third place in the race until a throttle cable broke on Lap 6 putting him out of the race. Next time!
